Port Jervis resident Enido Rumaldo pleaded guilty on Thursday, Feb. 27, in Orange County Court to second-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, according to Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler.
The charges stemmed from a long-term investigation into drug sales in and around the City of Port Jervis.
Prosecutors said that during the fall of 2024, Rumaldo sold narcotics to undercover police officers four times. On Oct. 16, 2024, he was caught selling 63 grams of cocaine to an undercover officer.
Following the sale, police arrested Rumaldo and executed a search warrant on his vehicle, where they found more narcotics, along with scales and plastic baggies used for drug packaging.
At his plea hearing, Rumaldo admitted to knowingly selling at least half an ounce of cocaine.
Under the plea agreement, Rumaldo is expected to be sentenced to six years in prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision, when he appears for sentencing on Wednesday, March 26.
